Apartment Fire in Alief Area of Houston

    Apartment Fire

WHERE:
    12600 Brookglade Circle, 77099


INJURIES:
    No reported injuries


PROPERTY SAVED:
    Firefighters prevented spread of the fire to other apartment buildings within the complex.


DAMAGE:
    Damage to one apartment building.


CAUSE:
    The cause is under investigation by HFD Arson.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    Firefighters arrived on scene with heavy fire coming from the roof and center building of an apartment complex. They worked to knock down the fire that had spread from the first floor to the attic and roof. A primary search was completed and a secondary search was delayed due to the conditions. No victims were found and HFD Arson was requested to determine the cause and origin due to the extent of the fire. The American Red Cross was requested to assist the displaced residents. Firefighters from Stations 51, 83, 73, 68, 75, 10, and 76 responded to this incident.

Apartment Fire in IAH / Airport Area of Houston

PROPERTY SAVED:
    $45 thousand in estimated property saved.


DAMAGE:
    $5,500 in estimated damage.


CAUSE:
    The cause is under investigation by HFD Arson.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    Firefighters arrived on scene to find light smoke coming from a 2-story apartment building. They found an open door and a working fire in the middle of a room of an unit. A primary search found no victims. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. Firefighters from Stations 64 and 74 responded to this incident.

Apartment Fire in Acres Home Area of Houston

WHEN:
    September 15, 2018 at 9:14 a.m.


WHERE:
    790 West Little York Rd, 77091


INJURIES:
    No reported injuries


PROPERTY SAVED:
    Fire contained to room of origin.


DAMAGE:
    $3 thousand in estimated damage.


CAUSE:
    Unintentional


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    Firefighters arrived on scene to find no smoke or fire visible. Upon entering the apartment, they encountered light smoke. A fire had started in the bedroom and the sprinkler system activated, extinguishing the fire prior to the fire department’s arrival. Crews checked for extension and found none. The fire appeared to have originated from a nightlight plugged into a wall outlet near a bed which caught the bed, sheets and blinds on fire. Firefighters from Stations 67, 31, and 58 responded to this incident.

House Fire in Fort Bend Area of Houston

CAUSE:
    The cause is under investigation by HFD Arson.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    The crew of Engine 80 arrived on scene to find smoke coming from the eaves of a 2-story house. They forced entry into the front door of the home and encountered heavy smoke. The firefighters located the fire and after extinguishing it checked for extension. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire.

Apartment Fire in Mid West Area of Houston

    September 14, 2018 at 10:50 a.m.


WHERE:
    2757 Briargrove Drive, 77057


INJURIES:
    No reported injuries


PROPERTY SAVED:
    Fire was contained to unit of origin.


DAMAGE:
    $3 thousand in estimated damage.


CAUSE:
    The cause is under investigation by HFD Arson.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    Firefighters arrived on scene to find fire in a third-story apartment unit. They began an offensive attack on the fire and conducted a primary search. No victims or extension of the fire was found. The unit was vacant and maintenance personal had attempted to extinguish the fire after hearing a smoke alarm sounding. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. Firefighters from Stations 28, 68, 2 and 60 responded to this incident.

Apartment Fire in Edgebrook Area of Houston

    September 14, 2018 at 1:36 p.m.


WHERE:
    1300 Redford St, 77034


INJURIES:
    No reported injuries


PROPERTY SAVED:
    $42 thousand in estimated property saved.


DAMAGE:
    $8 thousand in estimated damage.


CAUSE:
    Intentional, Under investigation by HFD Arson.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy fire and smoke coming from the second floor of a two-story apartment building. A primary search was completed and firefighters checked for extension of the fire beyond the unit of origin. The fire was contained to the one unit and no victims were found. The unit was vacant with no furnishings. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. Firefighters from Stations 70, 52, 61, 26, 36, and 29 responded to this incident.
